How to Name Your Guild Wars 2 Characters | The Priory Library
Do you have trouble selecting a suitable name in MMORPGs according to your race/background? Do your friends embarrass you by selecting Brangelina and DarthVaderRulez for their fantasy character names? The Priory Library has a great guide on how to select a character name based on your choice of Guild Wars 2 race. Don’t know about you but I am bookmarking it. There are a couple of useful threads on Guru forums with tips on how to name your characters if you want to search for them.
Asura have short, one or two syllable names that make extensive use of double letters, with males taking sharp sounding consonants at their end while females taking softer vowel sounds like –i and -a. There’s a little bit of lore about surnames too. Normally they don’t take them; instead opting for more descriptive terms like their job, krewe name (a sort of Asuran taskforce) or even an honorific; these can result in self-important and often overblown titles that feed their inner (and rather substantial) egomaniac. There are a few who, upon encountering other races with surnames, and regularly interacting with them choose to adopt a surname themselves which, while odd by Asura standards is easily overlooked.
